Mauritius hotels

Mauritius hotels are renown all over the world for the excellence in service and hospitality and are situated mostly on some of the best beaches in the world. The gently curving beige sand beach, safe swimming, shady trees and gentle sea breezes all contribute to the laid-back Mauritian style.

The natural beauty and safety of the lagoons are suitable for any water-sport fanatics and the coastal hotels provide more or less all water sport facilities to their clients. Some are provided free of charge as part of basic hotel facilities but some are available at extra cost. A lot of hotels in Mauritius offer gymnasiums, fitness centres, squash tennis courts and some have a golf course. All provide the gear and personnel to practice your favourite sport in the best conditions. Beach volley and soccer is often played on the beaches near the resorts.

Hotels in Mauritius also provide a number of restaurants which provide a wide choice cuisine. There is a variety of the local dishes, inherited from the different migrants from India, China, Africa and Europe to other more classical European style cuisine.
Most hotels provide entertainment facilities like casinos and nightclubs. They also regularly organise shows at night to entertain their guest. The traditional Mauritian dance, the sega, and various oriental dancing exhibitions are the most popular. One has to assist and even participate to the Sega shows to feel the heat and energy of Mauritian tropical nights.
