Mauritius offers in the course of your holiday a whole array of entertainment to suit anyone's taste. The natural beauty and safety of its lagoons are suitable for any water sport fanatics, to the feverish night clubbers with its discos and the subtle and thrilling atmosphere of the casinos for the gamblers.
Large beach hotels in Mauritius provide entertainment facilities like water sports, casinos and nightclubs. They also regularly organise shows at night to entertain their guest. The traditional Mauritian dance, the Sega, and various oriental dancing exhibitions are the most popular. One has to assist and even participate to the Sega shows to feel the heat and energy of Mauritian tropical nights.
In town facilities such as restaurants, bars, cinemas and nightclubs are available. Concerts, shows and plays are organised in the theatres and stadium of the towns. During festival, one can attend cultural shows, most of them at Le Caudan or Port Louis Waterfront. Horse races are held from May to December at Champ de Mars in Port Louis. The races held during these winter weekends are at the centre of all life. This offers a thrilling experience to live.
Apart from restaurants, bars and nightclubs, casinos are another feature of nightlife in Mauritius. Most of them are found in the large beach hotels around the island. There are however a few casinos found in the towns namely at Port Louis (Domaines les Pailles, Caudan Waterfront) and Curepipe.
What better way to discover the beauty of the coastline than to cruise on one of the various sailboats around the island? Sail over the crystal clear waters to the islets found on the north and east of Mauritius. These hidden beauties, Flat Island and Gabriel Island in the North and l'Ile aux Cerfs in the East, are a must for anyone fulfilling the fantasy of being alone on a desert tropical island with white sandy beaches and emerald green waters.
The sailboats are mainly modern catamarans offering all the amenities for a safe and comfortable cruise around the coastline of Mauritius. Depending on their size they can carry form ten to forty passengers. Lunch, usually a barbecue is included in the packages and is served on the boat or on the beach. Most of them also provide some sort of musical animation to entertain their guest. The large deck is perfect for sun bathing while admiring the view and the islets are perfect places for swimming and diving. This completes what can be unforgettable moments for your holidays. Bookings can be made through hotels, tour operators or by directly contacting the cruise organisers. Most of the sailboats in the North are found at Grand Bay or Caudan Waterfront in Port Louis. For the South East they are near Mahebourg and cruise along the coastline towards Ile aux Cerfs in the East.
